| NEW ROOFS |
CASE STUDY 1
Miss Robertson, Tynemouth
New Semi-detached roof installation.
Miss Robertson was suffering from an array of tiling problems due to this 1936 property suffering badly in high winds and storm seasons. Instead of spending money year on year on this older roof she opted to have a full new HIP Spec 2008 roof installed. This gave the following benefits:
Benefits
1.
Passes current HIP Inspection for roof security. (Useful if ever selling the property as your HIPS Pack done by estate agents will fly through and more often potential buyers will want to view properties with a clean bill of health.)
2. Energy efficiency. Felt membrane prevents heat loss from your loft space. Further Kingspan and other energy saving items may be installed. i.e. Solar paneling to heat water etc.
3. Zero maintenance. Tiling is interlocked with all of its neighbours on three sides to prevent any movement lifting, slipping. In fact, the roof is that secure it becomes difficult to remove tiles once a new roof is fully fitted.
4. Peace of mind. Knowing your roof is governed by a full 20 year warranty. Sandtoft, and Marley websites currently put a life expectancy of over 90-100 years on such a new roof.
5. Property value. On average a good solid roof structure adds around 8-14% more value to your property. A new roof however costs no where near that figure, thus your investment into a new roof adds value to your property.
6. Finished look and desirability. New roofs look significantly smarter and well balanced. With a wide range of coloured tiles available the homeowner can create that perfect look to match existing brickwork and surroundings.

CASE STUDY 2
Mr and Mrs Dryden, Tynemouth, Tyne & Wear
New Semi-detached roof installation.
Here Mr and Mrs Dryden suffered from an array of problems caused by their old and shabby looking concrete tiled roof causing leaks. Batons on the roof began to rot and break down causing tiles to slip and fall.
Areas of the roof had sustained damage from falling tiles.
Lead valleys were particularly affected and the final straw seemed to be a major leak into the ground floor kitchen caused by fallen tiles making incisions into the code 4 lead valley’s.
After inspecting our work on previous properties in Tynemouth, My & Mrs Dryden decided they wanted to rid themselves of the burden in maintaining this old roof and opted for a brand new modern, durable, more energy efficient, and stylish roof of which they could be proud.
With all the trimmings of a full DRY VERGE system, DRY RIDGE SYSTEM, new Toughened fibre glass VALLEYS and panoramic VELUX Windows, Findley Developments were able to create this ultra modern roofing system.
Mr & Mrs Dryden were absolutely astounded by the results, and very proud to have Findley Developments complete the work.

CASE STUDY 1
Mrs Fortune, South Shields, Tyne & Wear.
Here this old roof suffered from very poor tiling and slate work allowing water penetration into the main house.
There was evidence of temporary repairs carried out by previous contractors which had left the slates in an awful mess, covered in bitumen and black aquaseal in a half hearted attempt to stop water coming in.
Findley Roofing stripped out and replaced some 60 slates at this property, ensuring the job was done right.

| CHIMNEY STACKS |

CASE STUDY 1
Mr Atkinson, Tynemouth, Tyne & Wear.
Chimney Stack Removal
Here Mr Atkinson was advised that his rear chimney stack was looking very vulnerable and dangerous.
Receding cement work and loose brickwork meant the stack was in fact leaning.
Every year we see old chimney stacks causing damage to properties.
In this instance the stack was in fact dormant, therefore we dropped the stack to a safe level, removing all old brickwork (Some 2 tonne) and capped off the remaining dead flue.
Sound as a pound, good job lads.

CASE STUDY 1
Mr & Mrs Salt, Low Fell, Gateshead.
Chimney Stack Re-Pointing

CASE STUDY 1
Mr & Mrs Bell, South Shields, Tyne & Wear
Fascias and Soffit Replacement
Here Mr & Mrs Bell were suffering from leaks and damp coming in from both front bay windows.
The windows were really old code 3 lead tops, which had over the years cracked and split allowing water penetration.
Findley Roofing were contracted to replace the roofs with a durable Rubberoid felt membrane, new boards, and strip out all old timber guttering and rotten fascias and soffits.
After installing all fascias and soffits the guttering was finished off with new O GEE profile gutters, clips, unions and downpipes.
This bungalow underwent a fantastic transformation, shown here.
